Efficient detection of antigen-specific T cells depends on sensitive, high quality reagents.
The MHC Dextramer®reagents consists of a dextran polymer backbone carrying an optimized number of MHC molecules and fluorochromes. The dextran polymer stabilizes the conformation of the attached MHC-peptide complexes and fluorochromes, making MHC Dextramer reagents highly stable reagents.
MHC Dextramer reagents carry more MHC molecules and more fluorochromes than conventional MHC multimers. This increases their avidity for the specific T cell and enhances their staining intensity, thereby increasing resolution and ensures minimal background staining.
Dextramer reagents are particularly efficient in the detection of T cells carrying T-cell receptors with low affinity for MHC-peptide»». This enable discovery of T-cell specificities that not previously have been investigated and can facilitate a new understanding of T-cell immunity.
