In October 1993, UCTUnitedChemacquired the specialty chemical branch of Huls America (formerly Petrarch®). This expansion into silane manufacturing allowed for greater control of the chemical processes involved in producing our high quality bonded phases.
Today UCT, Inc. operates as two distinct divisions. UCT, LLCUnitedChemmanufactures chromatographic and sample prep materials for researchers and analytical laboratories. Along with sample prep sorbents UCT also offers all the reagents and tools needed to perform sample extractions. This includes derivatizing reagents, hydrolyzing enzymes, buffer salts, extraction manifolds and HPLC columns. We have expanded our customer base through the years based on our reproducible high quality products and our unmatched technical support. Tobacco and alcohol use during pregnancy is a serious public health concern, resulting in adverse obstetrical and neonatal outcomes including miscarriage, preeclampsia, low birth weight, preterm delivery, fetal growth restriction, decreased head circumference, placenta abruption, and facial abnormalities. Meconium is a good matrix for in utero drug exposure assessment in pregnancies carried to term. Although meconium formation begins as early as 13 weeks, other methods must assess earlier exposure. In this study, we examined whether analysis of fetal liver and placenta from electively terminated pregnancies utilizing solid-phase extraction could determine exposure patterns during the second trimester.
